There are many different types of vacuums, commercial grade, uprights, cordless, backpack, but there is something that all of these cleaning machines have in common. The principals of how the work and effectively clean up any type of mess is the same. There are many different parts to a vacuum. These parts come together to make a very effective debris removing machine.
One of the main parts of a vacuum is the head. The head of the vacuum holds the brush and is also the the part that is used to suck up all of the dirt. If you look at underneath the head of any vacuum you will not only see the brush, but past the brush you will also see a tube that leads to the vacuum bag.
This leads us to two more parts of the vacuum the tube and the vacuum bag. Let me be clear that not every vacuum uses vacuum bags. Although, every vacuum has a storage area where dirt and debris goes. So, for informational purposes we will call this area the vacuum bag. Now we know that the head scoops up all of the dirt in the carpet by using the brush and powerful suction. This debris then goes up the vacuum tube and into the vacuum bag, but what provides the vacuum with such powerful suction?
Every vacuum has a motor and a fan. The more powerful the motor, the more powerful the vacuum. The fan does two things. It turns the brush in the head of the vacuum and it spins a fan. By spinning the vacuum’s fan, the motor create a powerful vortex that continuously sucks air into the vacuum bag.
Once the in the vacuum bag the debris is trapped in a filter and the air is allowed to flow out of the machine. This makes room for more air and debris. When the vacuum bag is full, it can be emptied or replaces. All vacuums, from commercial grade to the smallest portable car vacuum cleaners work in this way.
