When facing the decision of which coffee grinder to get for your home you come across two main types which most retailers stock. You have either a Blade grinder or a Burr Grinder. If you are inexperienced in the fine art of making coffee at home then you may well be persuaded to opt for a blade coffee grinder given that the low cost of such devices makes them more desirable.

However, making this choice would be false economy and you would find that your new piece of equipment would end up at back of a cupboard when you quickly realize that it causes your espresso machine to spit out dire, hot, tasteless liquid.
The main problem with these blade coffee grinders if that they “chop” your coffee beans up in an inconsistent manner so you end up with a grind which will cause the hot water on your machine to pass too quickly through the grains, not picking up much of the wonderful coffee flavors on the way.

A Conical burr grinder on the other hand will grind to an incredible consistency giving your espresso machine exactly what it needs to produce the taste you dream of.
