When I left the UK on a three week holiday in France with four of my friends neither they or I could have foreseen that two years later I’d still be here! We were just going on a routine holiday to the Languedoc region in the South of France. The only thing we were looking for was seas and sun, good food and a great deal of relaxation. We certainly found all these things but I found a bit more.
I was travelling with two couples which was cool but I did end up going off by myself on some of the days and leaving them to it. Without going into every detail I can basically tell you that I met a pretty French student in a charming little cafe in Montpellier. A holiday romance ensued, but when it was time to say goodbye and leave I couldn’t drag myself away. And two years later I still can’t! I’m in love and the Languedoc is my new home.
