Common to both males and females, snoring is considered to be one of the most annoying conditions. More a physiological irregularity than a disease, snoring is the vibrating soft-tissue result of restricted air passages of the nasal cavities. While sleeping, the restricted airways cause a vibration of the soft tissues, which creates a whistling-like sound.
Snoring, an involuntary action cannot be controlled by mere will power. Most patients will need to use some sort of anti-snoring device to allow free breathing while they are sleeping. There are many different devices like snore guard and sprays like nasal spray, all reporting to be the “best at ending your snoring”! One of these such devices are the nasal strips that are applied to the ridge of the nose before going to bed. Some have reported good results with these strips, which claim to open up the respiratory airways and prevent the vibration of the air, ending the snoring.
It is widely believed that almost every snorer inhales through the mouth. If you don’t like to use a snoring mouth guard because of the soreness associated with it….then you can use a chin strap to keep the mouth closed and keep it in a forward position whilst sleeping. This is so that you can to inhale and exhale through the nose, thus often preventing the patient from snoring.
Some others perfer to use the no snore pillows which are designed in a way such that the nasal or the respiratory pathways are not obstructed. This result in balance floe of air in the nasal passage without causing vibrations and hence snoring is reduced. However, one can reducing their body weight. This necessarily doesn’t mean that all fat people snore. Regular exercise will help in keeping away all the snoring problems
Changing the method of one-side lying will be helpful to reduce snoring to some extent. The more you reduce drinking and smoking, the more you can control snoring as these constrict the respiratory methods. One should be careful about whether there is any accumulated part of mucous in the passages related to respiration because the vibration of air will cause snoring.
