If you want easy to install, affordable outdoor lighting, you can’t go wrong with installing outdoor string lighting or rope lighting.  These two types of fixtures both put out much the same type of light, but one of them is much more versatile than the other.  Read on to find out which one will most likely fit best into your property.

Outdoor rope lighting actually looks like a rope, hence its name.  The light fixtures, usually small LED lights or fiber optic cables are completely enclosed in a plastic tube.  The lights come in a variety of different colors and sizes and they’re great to wrap around railings, posts, or other objects.   They’re also great to use and then store away and won’t get tangled up the same way that your Christmas lights do every year.

String lights, on the other hand, are those types of lights that get tangled all the time.  They’re small light fixtures that dangle from a string.  While when most people think of string lights, they immediately think of Christmas lights, they are far from your only option.  There are many festive, playful options that you can find for any parties that you might be having and you can even find more sophisticated types of string lights such as ones that have hand-blown glass globes!  They can be strung up in many different areas of your home, from around your patio to on different shrubs and trees.

The sheer choice for size and style of string lights makes them a much better choice for most homes.  While if you take them down and try to put them up again it might turn into a bit of a headache if you don’t install them correctly, the ability of the lights to match any mood or style that you want more than makes up for this shortcoming.
